On the way to work, I hid some unicorn toys in the trees at a local park. When the kids came in to camp, they found an owl post from Hagrid saying that he’d noticed some unicorns were missing when he was walking in the forbidden forest that morning, and asked us to help him find them. We headed over to the “forest” to find them and bring them home!

When we returned, we took our Sorcerer’s Stones out of the solution where they had been growing to drain.

We added wings to our snitches, then built catapults out of popsicle sticks and rubber bands to see what it would take to launch them the farthest. Each round, we made some modifications to our catapults to see what variations would get us a bit more firepower.

Our final activity of the week was quidditch! You may (rightfully) wonder how on earth we managed that with only 4 people, one of whom was 2 years old, and it definitely took some thought. I set it up as more of a race. The chaser would start holding the Quaffle (soccer ball) at one end of the yard. They would run to throw it in a ring on the other end. On the way back, they turned into a Seeker and try to catch the snitch (tennis ball) as it was tossed to them. The remaining two players were beaters. They each had a soft ball and an area they needed to stand, one on each side. They could throw their ball to try to hit the chaser/seeker at any time until they were back across the starting line. We just rotated around positions a few times until everyone was satisfied! One point each for scoring with the quaffle or catching the snitch, but no points if you were hit by a bludger.

That was it! We had a little more free time this day, when they played a bit more pin-the-scar to try and squeak out those last couple house points. I had them count their beads and tell me in secret, then, while they were eating their lunch, I announced the winner of the house cup.
